Effective Business ProcessCheck out any bookstore lately and you can see that there are many different claims on how an effective business is run. Essentially what these books will tell you is that first and foremost an effective business must have an effective Business Process. The big picture of a business in where you take all the tasks necessary to complete the one goal the business is designed for. There are three major components to a Business Process and they are Management Processes, Operational Processes and the Supporting Processes. Management Business Process From what I have seen in an effective Business Process, the management is just that. They are the corporate governance of the company and they need to govern according to the workers and according to the client. To combine both of these entities to work for the common goal takes strategic management. This combination is a hard task if a business process has not been designed or implemented. As a matter of fact, it would be an impossible task. Management is there to lead the people and keep the client satisfied. If one subject does not know about the other, the management is only completing one part of the Business Process. Operational Process The daily operating of a business with an effective Business Plan has all parts of the business working together for the common good. In all areas of the operation of the business including the purchasing department, the manufacturers and the marketing and sales departments all have to know what this Business Process is and how they fit in. If a certain operational group feels like they are not a required entity to the overall Business Process it may lose an important part of the functioning business. Supporting Process Let it never be underestimated that everyone should be in line with the Business Process. The supporting departments may not have an idea that they are vital to the overall process but they are. If the accounting staff, the recruitment staff and even the Information Technology staff are not focused in on the objective, your business could suffer. It is a critical point that the management, operational and supporting appendage of any business are working together to create an entire successful business. They may all have different functions but they are needed to accomplish the one goal. Essentially what a Business Process is is a plan for the different processes to accomplish one goal. With the management, operation and supporting groups communicating about this goal, there is no effective business plan.
